Welcome to our band webpage. We use this page to keep you updated on upcoming events, deadlines and band news. Click on any upcoming event listed to the right of this page and you will see details concerning that event. Also the calendar page has dates listed well in advance. We hope to be adding many pictures and videos to the multimedia tab soon and are confident the website will help everyone stay more informed and involved.
Good morning, I hope this email finds you well and ready for the kickoff of another Marching Eagle season. We will be traveling to fairview this week and the details are found below.
Friday- Band students will perform in the pep rally Horn line and drum line will need to wear the band t shirt to school Friday. Color Guard and Dance Line will coordinate with their captains on attire for Friday. After the pep rally band students will be dismissed from school.
Game- Band students should report to the band room at 4:15 p.m. wearing the band tshirt and athletic shorts to go under the uniform, white socks (no ankle socks please) and band shoes. Band students also need to remember to bring their hat and gloves. Auxiliaries will coordinate with their captains on hair and makeup and attire. We will depart from the band room at approximately 4:30 and arrive at Fairview around 5. We will then have around 45 minutes to eat at the bbq supper then we will get dressed and prepare to march in around 6:30. If your child is planning on eating please send $8 and have them put it in the box. If you would like to order a plate as well please let me know and send the money. Tickets for the supper will be $10 at the door. The game will kickoff at 7 and should be over between 9:30 and 10. We should arrive back at Vinemont between 10 and 10:30. Please be on time to pick up your children. Chaperones will have them call parents when we are leaving Fairview.
If you plan to check your child out after the truck is loaded please remember you must sign them out and only a parent or legal guardian will be allowed to do so. Once your child is signed out they are under your supervision.

Please note- we usually don’t leave this early unless the game is very far away. We are leaving earlier due to the bbq supper.

Here is some info that is very important in the coming weeks.
Today is the last day to order t-shirts or hoodies for the makeup order.
Next week we will travel to our first ball game. The game will be away vs. Fairview. Details regarding times will be sent out next week.
Students must have their health form and rules form signed and turned in or they will not be allowed to go to the game.
Fairview hosts a BBQ supper each year and we as a band participate. This year they are offering BBQ or Chicken. The meal includes
BBQ Pork or Smoked Chicken
Baked Beans
Coleslaw
Bread
Drink
Dessert
The cost is $8 in advance and $10 at the door. If you are planning on eating or your child is planning on eating please send the $8 and place it in the box with name, amount and your meat choice on the envelope and place it in the box. Please support the band at Fairview as they always support our dinner when we host the game.
Band shoes, pep rally uniforms, tennis shoes and frat shirts all need to be paid for before they are picked up. All of these items are needed for the pep rally and ball games next Friday. log in to charms to check your account balance. Band students will also need to wear their band shirt on Friday to school so plan accordingly.
Band members that play a horn must purchase gloves. The cost for gloves is $3. We usually advise students to buy 2 pair up front as they get dirty and are easily lost.
Our evening rehearsals will end at 8 p.m. until after the first home game. After the first home game Thursday rehearsals will last until 8:30 and will be held in the stadium.

Vinemont Band Booster Meeting AUG 16 <— Click here to view the August band booster meeting minutes.
Band pictures have been scheduled for August 9 at 6:30 p.m. This is the same night as open house so you can kill two birds with one stone. We will take the group picture at 6:30 sharp. Scheduling it later in the evening will make it much cooler for the kids in their uniforms. With the light of day fading we will need to be sure everyone is ready to go at 6:30 so students will need to report to the band room at 6 p.m. Picture package information will be sent home as soon as it is available. Tonight we will be fitting the sr.and jr. at 5:15, tuesday we will be fitting sophomore and freshmen at 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday we will be fitting 7th and 8th grade right after practice around 5:15. If you need to arrange for an alternate time please contact Mr. Wright via email or phone.
Thanks to the band officers for setting this up. We are also asking that 7th grade parents attend the fitting with your child to help with sizes. This process takes a little time so please be patient as we go through to find the correct size for each student. Also it works better if students wear athletic shorts and a tshirt under the uniform. Gadsden music will also be here Monday during band camp to fit shoes.

Here is the final artwork for our 2010 band t-shirt. The shirts will be grey with red ringer sleeves and collar. All orders must be completed and paid for by Tuesday July 27. I have to call in the order that day to get our shirts here in time for our parent performance at the end of band camp. There will only be one order so be sure to get what you need on this order. Please add $3 for any sizes over XL. All sizes listed on the order form are adult sizes. Thanks!
